Hyundai Motor Co. announced recently that starting in 2024, people looking to buy cars will be able to buy them on Amazon.
Dealerships will able to sell Hyundai vehicles directly to consumers through the Amazon platform, which currently lets people pick from a range of manufacturers but does not currently let them purchase the vehicles through the website.
Plus, customers who buy Hyundais through Amazon can choose between picking up their vehicle at a nearby dealer or getting it delivered.
Under the partnership, Amazon will serve as the agent between the buyer and the dealership. This is because there are currently rules that forbid car manufacturers from selling directly to consumers in all 50 states, according to CBS News.
Pricing will likely be set by local dealers, as Hyundai did not specify how cars would be priced under this new arrangement.
